Garbage Rate Increase April 1, 2026

The City will implement a garbage rate increase beginning April 1, 2026.

This adjustment is necessary as the City transitions to outsourcing residential and certain commercial garbage collection services to a private vendor. This change is intended to ensure reliable, consistent service moving forward.

New Rates (Effective April 1, 2026):

Residential: $23.00 per can

Businesses (not utilizing dumpsters): $30.00 per can

At this time, businesses located within the Historic Downtown District will not be affected by this rate change.

Additional information will be coming out in the coming weeks outlining what to expect with the new service, including any changes to collection schedules, procedures, or equipment.

A contractor hit a water main in the area of 114 N Center St. Contract crews as well as city crews are on scene assessing & actively repairing the issue. Water should be restored shortly.
