The City of Senatobia is proud to announce the appointment of Harold Vanderford as its new Chief of Police. With 29 years of law enforcement experience, Chief Vanderford brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a strong commitment to community-focused policing.
Throughout his career, he has led specialized units including K-9, undercover narcotics, and SWAT, roles that demanded discipline, accountability, and sound decision making under pressure. His leadership style is firm, fair, and focused, and he is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism within the department.
Chief Vanderford understands the importance of transparency and public trust, especially at a time when communities are calling for reform and stronger relationships between law enforcement and citizens. He is committed to answering that call with action, humility, and a deep connection to the people of Senatobia.
Beyond his law enforcement background, Chief Vanderford has served as a coach and athlete, experiences that have shaped his approach to leadership emphasizing teamwork, trust, and leading by example both on and off duty.
As Chief, he plans to lead a department that reflects Senatobia’s core values: integrity, service, and accountability. He will focus on equipping officers with the training and resources they need while ensuring the department remains responsive to the community it serves.

Memorial Day Holiday

All City Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th 2026 in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no disruption to the Waste-Pro garbage collection.  All routes will run as normal.
